I just pulled off the cleanest microservice migration of my career. Six months later my team tried the same thing. It didn't go like that. I unpack what went wrong, why it was my fault even though I gave them the blueprint, and the two things I wish someone had told me before I became a manager: there is no template, and the accountability runs in one direction.
