It's 8:30 PM and I'm lying in my four-year-old's bed playing Spiderman when the text comes in. "yoo, we are logging out all of tenant config in prod logs has secrets in plain text." Not test secrets. Not staging. All of the secrets. Production.

This episode is the story of that night: the technical cause (a raise e that was always there, waiting for the right conditions), the real-time runbook you write under pressure (which is nothing like the runbook in the documentation), the compliance conversation nobody prepares you for, and the thing underneath all of it: that what you log is an architectural decision, not a default. Most teams find out they didn't make it when it's already 10 PM.
